Welcome to Eastside College
Consultants! We are an independent college planning
and advising service whose ultimate goal is for each student
client to find, apply and be admitted to a college where (s)he
will grow and be successful.
We, the co-owners, Sue
Epeneter and Andrea
Wehner, bring over 40 years combined experience in
counseling, career choice and college preparation in assisting
college-bound students on the Eastside of Lake Washington. We
founded Eastside College
Consultants to provide students and their parents
with strategic assistance in the college search and admissions
process. While high school counselors are an integral part of
the process, we know from our personal
experience working in a highly academic and affluent suburban
high school, where most of the student population is
college-bound, just how much the college admissions process
and the job of the high school counselor has changed in the
last decade.
Colleges and universities have become increasingly competitive
due to a number of factors: growth in population of
high school seniors; fixed size of incoming freshman classes
at top colleges; an increase in percentage of high school
seniors applying to college; and an added number of
applications submitted by seniors. In addition, admissions
requirements are continually changing. At the same time,
increased student to counselor ratios and added
responsibilities have combined to severely limit time
available to high school counselors to assist students with
college applications and essays. Thus was born
Eastside College Consultants.
Eastside College Consultants
provides assistance with the college search; assessment of
individual talents, abilities and interests; preparation of an
activities resume; the college application process; essays and
personal statements; and college visits and interviews. We aid
the student in developing a timeline for completion of
applications to make sure that (s)he meets college deadlines.
Essay help includes brainstorming essay topics and
"fine-tuning" the final essay based on edits, recommendations
and comments. Links are provided for test preparation
resources, financial aid information and much, much more.
Selecting the right college fit can be a difficult, confusing
and overwhelming task without the assistance of a
knowledgeable and experienced college counselor.

confident manner. We will work with you and your family to
guide you through the college planning and admissions process
from start to finish. We will ensure that colleges see you in
the best possible light and that you are applying to the
